Microneedling w/ PRP
Face, Neck, Décolletage
Service Description
Dermapen (DP4) Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma is a doctor-led treatment that stimulates collagen production and promotes natural skin regeneration. Using your own growth factor-enriched plasma, it helps smooth, tighten, and revitalise the skin. A course of three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results. Your safety and confidence come first. Before booking, please read through the following information. What the procedure involves: A sample of your blood is drawn and processed to extract platelet-rich plasma. Dermapen microneedling is then used to create micro-channels in the skin, and the PRP is applied to support skin renewal from within. Potential risks and side effects: As with any treatment involving microneedling, some temporary effects are common and expected. Most patients experience redness and skin sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours following treatment, which typically resolves on its own. Minor swelling, bruising, pinpoint bleeding and some skin peeling may also occur in the days after treatment. In some patients, a temporary darkening of existing pigmentation may be noticed before it settles. Less commonly, side effects can include infection or allergic reaction to PRP. Scarring is rare. As with any cosmetic treatment, results cannot be guaranteed. Contraindications: This treatment may not be suitable for everyone. It is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking blood thinners, have active skin infections or cold sores, have a history of keloid scarring, have certain blood disorders, or are immunocompromised. A full medical history will be taken at your consultation to determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you. Recovery: Most patients find the recovery straightforward. Redness and sensitivity typically settle within 24 to 48 hours. During this time it is important to avoid sun exposure, makeup, swimming and strenuous exercise. SPF should be worn daily throughout the recovery period to protect the skin. How long results last: Results vary between individuals. Improvement in skin texture and scarring may begin to become visible from four to six weeks following treatment and can continue to develop over several months. Ongoing maintenance may be recommended to sustain results. Important: Individual results vary. This information is general in nature. A consultation with Dr Sadia Shaikh is required to assess your individual suitability for this treatment.
