Practice Policies:

Appointment Policy :

Mymedical health centre only works on a booked appointment basis. Please contact the practice or book online via oMedi2app or HotDoc to make an appointment prior to your arrival. We do not accept Walk-in patients.

New patient policy :

All new patients must arrive 10 minutes before their appointment time. This is to ensure the nurse completes the necessary health check before you see the GP. This is to avoid any issues in the future and ensure a high quality of care for every visit. As per practice policy, new patients will not be seen by a doctor if they fail to come 10 minutes before their appointment time.

Late arrival :

We only work on a booked appointment basis, so it is important that all patients arrive on time. If someone is more than 10 minutes late, they will not be seen, and cancellation charges will apply. The patient will then have to book an appointment at another time.

Consultation Fees :

MyMedicare enrolled patients have a reduced gap fee of $40 Monday to Friday and $50 on Saturday. A $50 gap fee will be applicable to all other patients from Monday to Friday and $60 on Saturdays, except for children aged 4 and under and DVA Gold Card holders. Patients with a pension, concession, or health care card, and children aged 5 to 14, must be enrolled in MyMedicare with the practice to continue receiving bulk billing from Monday to Friday. Private fees will apply otherwise.

Gap Fees :

The gap fee applies to all appointments, including services such as implant insertion /removal, Coil removal, Iron infusion, Dressing, Cryotherapy, Skin Check, PRP Joint injection, Dietician, Physiotherapy and Podiatrist appointments. Please contact reception if you require further information.

Saturday Consultations :

$50 consultation fees apply to all ages and all types of appointments on Saturdays for Mymedicare patients. $60 for all others. DNA Fees will be applied (please check the full policy). (Outstanding fees need to be paid before the appointment ).

Telephone consultations :

We bulk-bill telephone consultations Monday to Friday for our regular patients who are enrolled with our practice with MyMedicare. For all other patients $75 applies. On weekends, it is $85 for MyMedicare patients and $100 for others. These charges will apply regardless of the length of the consult, with a maximum of 10 minutes allowed for telehealth consults. Payments will be made prior to your booking, and we will claim this for you through Medicare after your appointment. The Medicare rebate ranging from $20.5 - $43.90 will automatically appear in the account linked to your Medicare.

CANCELLATION POLICY :

We understand that occasionally you may need to cancel an appointment. If that happens, we respectfully ask for scheduled appointments to be cancelled at least 2 hours in advance. There is a $50 fee for face-to-face and $25 for telephone appointments that are missed or cancelled within 2 operating hours, if you have a late arrival, or you do not attend your appointment. A $50 cancellation fee applies if a weekend and a $80 fee if a long appointment is missed. This fee needs to be paid prior to booking your next appointment & is not claimable with Medicare or health fund.

This policy will enable us to open otherwise unused appointments to better serve the needs of all patients. If someone has missed 3 or more appointments in a 12-month time period then their name will be removed from the practice patient list.

Email Policy :

We do not accept any email requests for referrals and scripts.

Zero Tolerance Policy :

We have a Zero tolerance approach to any rude, verbal, aggressive and violent abuse and behaviour towards our staff or other patients. We respectfully advise you that abuse and/or violence will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the practice list.

Long Appointments:

All patients are able to book long appointments by calling reception and paying a refundable deposit fee of $80. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this appointment, you are not able to book this online.

Home Visits:

The doctors make local house calls. Please phone (02) 9159 9138 as there is a criterion for house calls. You must be a regular patient of Mymedical Health Centre, it must be deemed medical necessary, you cannot physically attend the practice and you must be located within 5 kms of Mymedical Health Centre. There is a practice fee for a home visit. A list of these fees can be found under the fees section.
