Microneedling w/ PRP
Scalp
Service Description
An advanced treatment that combines microneedling with platelet rich plasma to stimulate hair follicles and repair the scalp. Your safety and confidence come first. Before booking, please read through the following information. What the procedure involves: A sample of your blood is drawn and processed to extract platelet-rich plasma, which is then administered into the scalp using fine injections or a mesogun device. The treatment is designed to support hair follicle health and scalp condition. Potential risks and side effects: As with any treatment involving scalp injections, some temporary effects are common and expected. Most patients experience redness, mild swelling and tenderness at the injection sites, which typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. Minor bruising and scalp sensitivity may also occur. Some patients notice a temporary increase in shedding in the weeks following treatment before improvement becomes apparent. Less commonly, side effects can include infection or allergic reaction to PRP. As with any treatment, results cannot be guaranteed. Contraindications: This treatment may not be suitable for everyone. It is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking blood thinners, have active scalp infections, have certain blood disorders, or are immunocompromised. A full medical history will be taken at your consultation to determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you. Recovery: Most patients find the recovery straightforward. Redness and scalp sensitivity typically settle within 24 to 48 hours. During this time it is recommended to avoid washing the hair, swimming and strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after treatment. Number of sessions: Multiple sessions are typically required to achieve and maintain results. Most patients undergo three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions as recommended. The number of sessions best suited to you will be discussed at consultation. How long results last: Results vary between individuals. Improvement in hair density may begin to become visible over three to six months. Ongoing maintenance treatments are typically required to sustain results. Individual results vary. This information is general in nature. A consultation with Dr Sadia Shaikh is required to assess your individual suitability for this treatment and to discuss your specific risks and expected outcomes.
